Family members of Brandon S. Bubier have created this Youth Lifetime License program in the name of our loved one, Brandon who was killed in an automobile accident at the young age of 21. Brandon was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved to ride anything that had wheels and a motor. A great characteristic of Brandon's was the fact that he enjoyed sharing his love of hunting, fishing and riding with young family members and others. He would often come home and tell about his adventurous day with a young child or adolescent.
Brandon loved children and they loved and looked up to him! This is one of the reasons the Brandon S. Bubier Memorial Foundation is giving away lifetime licenses to children ages 2 to 15 in his memory. It is our honor that Brandon's legacy will be carried on for many years by offering children and young adults the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Maine woods and waters as Brandon did. We feel this act of kindness would be an action that Brandon would be very proud of.

From Brandon’s first breath he melted the hearts of many. Watching him come into this world was a miracle and changed my life forever. With his baby blue eyes, curled up nose and cute little smile how could you not love him! We were fortunate to have him live with us for many years and watch him grow. From his first steps to his first snowmobile at age 6 he loved his Auntie and Uncle Merk. Chicken nuggets and chocolate milk were his favorites. We would try to get him to eat vegetables and he would say,” I can’t like that!”. Tobie would hold him on one hand and Brandon would stand there and balance himself as he giggled with his infectious laugh.
Brandon was like our own he was our ‘practice’ grandson. He was always with us and we included him wherever and whenever possible. He looked up to Jayson and Alyson like a big brother and big sister and they watched over him like a little brother. At night we would hear his little pitter patter of his footsteps coming down the hall to our bedroom. He would softly say “Auntie can I sleep with you and Uncle Mert?” So he’d snuggle up between us and go back to sleep. When Brandon was 10 he was picked for a moose permit so we all headed to our camp at Langtown. After riding the back roads all week looking for a bull moose finally a moose crossed our path, he pulled up the rifle and took a shot but his vision wasn’t that good and he shot a stump. So we ride some more but finally the last day he was able to shoot a nice bull moose. He loved the outdoors. Fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, atving or just standing around the campfire. A daredevil and loved doing crazy stuff but everybody loved him! Brandon learned to ride snowmobile from Jayson. Jayson would drive off the trail and go boondockin, up this banking, over this hill, jump this snow bank. Brandon would be right behind him doing the same thing! Many funny stories about how he didn’t have a mask so he made a face mask out of duct tape then got frost bite on the tip of his nose because he forgot to completely cover it. Brandon was a giving person. He’d give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. It may not be his shirt but he’d give it to you anyway. He had a way of losing clothes. Especially socks. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him wear a matched set of socks. “Oh well, he said, there’s a pair just like it somewhere!”
I could stand here for hours and tell so many stories about him growing up, dirtbike racing, R/C racing, snowmobiling, tubing at Allen Pond, the things that Brandon, Jayson, Matt, Justin, Hunter, Cain & Brady used to tinker on in Jayson’s garage. (Three Dubs Garage as they called it). The way he loved and protected his little sisters, Nikki and Cassidy. The pictures tell so much.
We each have our own way of coping with a tragedy. I believe that everything happens for a reason but sometimes its hard to figure out why God has given us this burden. When you don’t understand whats happening in your life, just close your eyes, take a deep breath and say, “God, I know its your plan. Just help me through it.” Although Brandon can’t be here with us on earth, I truly believe he’s watching over us. From time to time he’ll give us a sign. It may be thru a song, the sound of a loud truck driving by, an object that reminds us of him, a certain smell or even come to us in a dream. You may be laying in bed and get woke up by feeling a cold breeze on your lips or cheek. That’s Brandon giving you kisses and saying “It’s okay”.
With Brandons’ last breath he’s also melted the hearts of many. In my eyes he’s a hero. A miracle has happened and 55 families are ever so grateful for the precious gifts he’s donated so they may have a second chance at life.
I found this poem and would like to read it to you.
A Letter From Heaven
When tomorrow starts without me And I’m not here to see, If the sun should rise and find your eyes, Filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn’t cry The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things We didn’t get to say.
I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time you think of me,
I know you’ll miss me too.
When tomorrow starts without me, Don’t think we’re far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I’m right there in your heart.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and give kids lifetime hunting and/or fishing licenses.
